Refund Policy

1. Overview

GuruMap is sold as one-time, fixed-term digital Plan Packs (30 days for Half Pack and Full Pack, 12 months for the Pro Traveler Pack) — there is no subscription and nothing renews. This policy explains your refund rights under EU consumer law (Directive 2011/83/EU) and how we handle refunds in practice.

2. 14-day withdrawal right

As an EU consumer you normally have 14 days from purchase to withdraw from a distance contract for digital services without giving any reason.

3. Immediate-access waiver (important)

GuruMap unlocks paid features immediately after payment. By clicking Choose Half Pack or Choose Full Pack at checkout, you:

1. expressly request that we begin providing the service immediately, before the 14-day withdrawal period ends;
2. acknowledge that once the service has been fully performed (i.e. you have used it), you lose your right of withdrawal for that period.

This is your explicit prior consent as required by Article 16(m) of Directive 2011/83/EU.

4. When refunds are given

• Not used yet: if you haven't performed any paid action (no criteria saved, no spots discovered, no manual pins added, no map layers opened) since you bought the Plan Pack, you can request a full refund within 14 days.
• Already used: once you have used the service in a billing period, that period is non-refundable (as per Section 3).
• Service failure on our side: if the service was unavailable for a substantial part of a billing period due to a fault on our end, we will refund pro-rata.
• Accidental double-billing: always fully refunded.

5. How to request a refund

1. Open your account and click Plan Pack & receipts to open the Stripe billing portal.
2. Nothing needs cancelling — a Plan Pack is a one-time payment, so you are never billed again.
3. Email support@gurumap.org from your account email with the subject line "Refund request" and the invoice number.
4. We reply within 5 business days. Approved refunds are issued to the original payment method within 5–10 business days.

6. Cancellation

There is nothing to cancel: your Plan Pack simply ends when its fixed term ends. Letting a pack expire is not a refund.

7. Statutory rights

Nothing in this policy limits your non-waivable rights as a consumer under Irish and EU law.
